Topics: Video: The Monks of Saint Mary Magdalene...Blessed News!: St. Anthony Latin Mass Community Commended, Re-organised, Invigorated.

In case you have not heard, historic and blessed news has been delivered to the St. Anthony Parish, Latin Mass Community. A previously unseen level of autonomy has befallen us. See post below.

*This Sunday, August 18, is the 13th Sunday After Pentecost, Second Class, Gloria, Credo and Preface of the Holy Trinity, green vestments.

Fr Voelker will celebrate his first High Mass and regrets that he will not be hearing confessions before Mass , this being his first Extraordinary Form Mass, he needs extra time to prepare.

After this Sunday confession before Mass is planned.

*It occurs to me that a new advertisement for the Extraordinary Form of Mass is needed in the Catholic Advance.

*Venite Missa Est! on Facebook? Umm...maybe.

..and now for the necessaries.

Please note: St. Anthony Catholic Church is the only church celebrating the Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form of the Latin Rite) in the Wichita diocese. Though this blog is loosely centered around this parish and it's members, Venite Missa Est! is by no means, in any way an official voice of, or for, St. Anthony Parish or the Diocese of Wichita. Venite Missa Est! is strictly a private layman's endeavor.

In Case You Have Not Heard
Please Pass the Word Around

Blessings befalled the St. Anthony Latin Mass Community over the past weeks. For those who are unaware:
  1. Msngr. Hemberger commended the St. Anthony Latin Mass Community.
  2. Established the community as a canonically recognized chapel (note, not a parish)
  3. Father Jirac will take over as our pastor along with two other priests, one from Hutchinson, one from Wichita (sorry I forget the names....I am bad with names..I will post them).
  4. They will travel to Chicago to train at St. John Cantius for all the sacraments...
  5. We will have ALL the sacraments.
  6. We will have Holy days.
  7. We will have confessions before mass.
  8. Mass will be at 1 p.m. on Sundays.
  9. One low mass a month will remain.

There are tons of details that will still need to be worked out as this develops organically such as money issues, property, etc. For now we are to handle all issues of donations and parish affiliations as we have previous.
For some this is an issue that they cannot support as their schedules will not allow it (it IS right in the middle of the day), for some it is an acceptable burden, but as we have already seen at the first mass, for others it is an opportunity to come and discover the Extraordinary Form for the first time.

So many people have been praying for SO LONG for this kind of thing to happen.

Deo Gratias
