Hiatus

Hi folks and Merry Christmas. We at Venite Missa Est! are taking some much needed rest from the daily grind and will be back on the weekend of January 9th /10th.

Kudos to the choir for their tremendous performance at Midnight Mass. To use the common vernacular phrase: "You rock!"

Midnight mass brought a small bit of pride.

Now I know the weather was bad and older and younger folks SHOULD have stayed home and sought mass elsewhere or at a different time. Weather conditions were harsh and for those driving in from outside the city, darn right dangerous.

But I felt a warm glow inside as I watched the local news and read the closing notices of Christmas and Christmas Eve church services. Very few notices were Catholic closings.

I knew that for those who could make it, there would be no doubt as to what had to be done. I mentioned this to a few friends and they said that they would have made it to midnight mass if they had to walk!

We wish you a joyous new year and may the peace of the Lord be with all of us! See you next year!
